Since 2002 I have been learning the art of video jockey or VJ, performing at clubs, bars, parties, art events, etc.

At the moment this page is a work in progress and I have lots of stuff to add over the next few months. I figured that I gotta start somewhere, so here goes...

Adventures in Ornithology, February 2003


Let’s start here. This project is the brainchild of Gage at Merge Events. He was the DJ for this event and he pulled in myself for the video and another guy named Tilo to play the flute. Our collaboration took place at the San Diego Museum of Contemporary Art at the TnT (Thursday night thing). On the video side I remixed Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds movie and Gage sampled some of the audio to combine with a new sound track.

The entire piece is recorded live and we had never rehearsed. Despite that it turned out fantastic and it remains an inspiration to both Gage and I through the years.

Perspectives: Sights and Sounds, Surf Night, September 18, 2008



This is a sample of my VJ work during a show called "Perspectives: Sights and Sounds," a surf themed art show at Basic in San Diego. All of the visuals are still photographs from different sources including Google Images and Paul Bakan (www.paulbakan.com) that I mixed/composed together and rendered real time.
