Some background

In early 2000 I bought a Canon GL1 DV camera. At the time it was about $3000 and one of the best on the market (not it is extremely outdated).

Getting this camera really opened the door to video for me. I started by making some "demo" videos and that led to recording live music and making videos with bands who I met. One of those bands was Space Man Spiff and in the course of some live recordings and a music video the band leader, Clay Elliot , and I became great friends and later started Turtlefuzz .

The video recording and editing gave way to a focus on live video mixing, which uses photographs and short video clips. It is a completely new and non-linear way to put together video content, and it is a technique that lends itself well to live venues like parties and night clubs. The only problem is that unless recorded onto DVR, the mixed content is GONE as soon as you see it!

In 2008 my focus is to bring together elements of editing and producing video along with content that is generated in a live way. There are no real tools for doing this directly, it's a combination of recording mixed video, copying to PC, then editing with tools like Adobe Premiere. It takes a lot of time to do this but I think the outcome will be very interesting and unique!

Another trend for me is to start using the video sharing services to store & distribute my content.

What to look for in the future
