Japan: a Video Essay by Benjamin Norton

Spending over 4 years in the editing studio, this project has been the my labor of love from 2004 to 2008.
On this piece I developed an A/V technique that mixes ambient music with still photographs and acoustics recorded at the same time. The result is a compelling 41-minute work that guides you through the mesmerizing sensation of one’s first visit to the incredibly complex and breaktaking land of Japan.
Don’t let the 41 minutes scare you off. As others have told me, it feels like 15 and at the end you’ll be wishing for more!
